Patricia McFadden
Patricia McFadden, who also writes as Grian McFadden, is a former pre-school teacher and children’s librarian. She has an MFA in Writing for children from Spalding University and has been writing professionally for twelve years.
So far, Patricia has authored four children's books and numerous children’s plays, stories and articles, as well as creating teaching materials for educational publishers and doing free-lance work for various adult publications and the internet. Her middle-grade fantasy novel, Turtle Island received a Paul Gillette Memorial Award; her early chapter book, Dragon Dilemma has been adapted and performed as a children's play; and her short story "A Light for Lena" garnered a Highlights for Children Editors' Choice Award. She has been a member of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators since 1997.
